Shows
We are delighted with the success
of our latest venture – we performed the show ‘What A Feeling’ at the Epsom
Playhouse. An audience of nearly 400 people, including the Mayor of Epsom,
Cllr Jean Steer, had a fantastic time.

60 Phab
kids were in the cast – they sang, danced and acted in a show written
especially for them by two of the teenagers at the club. The show featured
songs from West End musicals such as ‘Chicago’, ‘Moulin Rouge’ and ‘Mary
Poppins’. There was also a memorable performance from Phab’s very own Queen
tribute band (aged 10 to 12 years old) who sang ‘Don’t stop me now’ and ‘We
Will Rock You’.
It
was
an incredible achievement, as not only did the show include both able bodied
and kids with disabilities – working together on equal terms, but also it
was directed and produced by three 14 year olds.

The
costume, backstage, marketing, technical and front of house teams were all
made up of youngsters aged 8 to 16 years with adults only taking a
supporting role. The project was funded by the Youth Opportunity Fund.
